Senior Mobile Engineer

Long-Term Contract: $85-$105 per hour

We are seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer (IC3) with a passion for elegantly solving complex problems to join our Mobile Core team. Flutter experience is preferred but not required. You will play a key role in enhancing our mobile-first banking experience, helping members manage their finances effectively. As part of a collaborative platform team, you'll tackle challenging mobile scalability problems, engage with Design and Product leadership to shape engineering plans, and work directly with stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a hands-on tech lead, mentor, and team player who drives solutions from architecture to implementation with strong ownership and delivery focus.

What You'll Do:

• Deliver high-quality code on schedule, communicating effectively with internal and external teams.
• Produce well-designed, scalable, and reusable code.
• Participate in code and design reviews, setting a high bar for the team.
• Collaborate across functions and teams to meet deliverables.
• Design and build large features independently, managing multiple tasks without guidance.
• Track project performance against defined milestones and goals.
• Work with product managers and stakeholders to align on project needs.
• Take initiative to deliver timely results in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
• Mentor junior engineers to foster growth and development.
• Create and enhance technical documentation.
• Make significant contributions to the codebase, driving the team's roadmap forward.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a fully accredited college or university.
• 6+ years of mobile programming experience in Android or iOS.
• Experience as a tech lead or architect for mobile, feature, or platform engineering teams.
• Proficiency in test-driven development, including unit and integration testing.
• Strong understanding of web protocols.
• Advocate for enhanced mobile monitoring, logging, and diagnosability.
• Propose and implement API strategies for frontend/backend communication.
• Architect flexible, performant, and reusable UI components to meet multiple team needs.
• Facilitate definition of project scope, deliverables, and goals.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and business leadership.
• Define best practices and maintain rigorous coding standards.
• Demonstrate deep technical expertise in Flutter and/or mobile development, with broad knowledge of infrastructure and API design.

• Experience with Flutter and other cross-platform technologies.
• Knowledge of reactive programming (e.g., RX, Coroutines, Streams).
• Contributions to mobile open-source frameworks.
• Understanding of S.O.L.I.D or G.R.A.S.P principles.
• Familiarity with Clean Architecture patterns.
• Experience building platform-level frameworks and components in large codebases.
