Our client offers an opportunity to become a key player on the Research & Development Team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer on a full time, direct hire basis. Job Overview:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a key member of the project development and execution team, providing hands-on engineering expertise in developing various electromechanical assemblies for government customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee projects and project schedules, collaborating hands-on with the R&D team on prototype builds, testing, and analysis.
  • Utilize extensive experience with SolidWorks for modeling, assemblies, BOM creation and administration, 2D drawings, GD&T, component selection, and manufacturing principles.
  • Contribute to a dynamic team environment by being creative, proactive, communicating clearly with all stakeholders, and fostering a highly collaborative working atmosphere.
  • Review and follow Mil-Std requirements in the design process.
  • Design mechanical parts and assemblies with approximately 100-500 parts in SolidWorks, working closely with electrical and chemical engineers.
  • Maintain organized SolidWorks part and assembly files.
  • Create 2D drawings and design for manufacturing.
  • Maintain an up-to-date BOM for assemblies.
  • Lead prototype builds and work hands-on with the team.
  • Work directly with vendors and the purchasing department to procure prototype components.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical design (graduate experience will be considered).
  • Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Previous experience with military products and/or the Department of Defense (DOD).
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards.
  • Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires US Citizenship.
