Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC/MEP Design

About the Company

Our client is a reputable mechanical contracting firm specializing in the design-build and installation of HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC and MEP system design efforts on large-scale construction projects. This role involves working closely with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure designs are buildable, efficient, and code-compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-house design of HVAC systems for design-build and design-assist projects
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and layout planning
• Produce construction-ready drawings and coordinate with BIM/VDC teams
• Support preconstruction, estimating, and value engineering efforts
• Interface with clients, GCs, and subcontractors during project execution
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering
• PE license preferred
• 5+ years of mechanical/HVAC design experience within a contracting or design-build environment
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC design software (e.g., Trane Trace, HAP)
