You'll play a key role as a discipline lead—owning design, analysis, and coordination for multi-discipline projects. You’ll also serve as a technical resource, mentor junior staff, and interface directly with clients, vendors, and internal teams to drive safe, efficient, and high-quality engineering solutions.
Depending on the location of the successful candidate, this role may be filled in Pittsburgh, PA, Houston, TX, or Tulsa, OK.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead mechanical design with a strong focus on industrial piping systems and equipment.
- Prepare and manage scope, budget, and schedules—ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.
- Create and modify equipment specs, evaluate vendor packages, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Oversee design deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, and complete project documents.
- Participate in project meetings, proposal development, and technical presentations.
- Ensure work meets industry standards (NFPA 59A, ASME B31.1/31.3, Section VIII, PHMSA, etc.) and internal QA expectations.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s or PE license preferred).
- 6+ years of experience with industrial mechanical/piping systems.
- Strong knowledge of valves, pipe components, and mechanical support design.
- Experience with tools like CAESAR II, AutoPipe, and AutoCAD is a plus.
- Proven communication skills, strong sense of urgency, and ability to juggle multiple projects with ease.
Bonus points if you bring:
- Familiarity with process design, stress analysis, and commissioning/startup phases.
- Client-facing experience and the ability to lead cross-functional coordination.
