Essential Job Functions
- Leading a flexible and multi-discipline team to produce material handling solutions that meet the business objectives and requirements of the customer.
- Creating drawings, estimates, schedules, and proposal documents and validating their accuracy as necessary to fulfill solution proposal requests.
- Creating material flow diagrams, describing how the system will function.
- Writing technical portions of proposals, descriptions of operation, and equipment or system acceptance plans
- Participating as part of the project engineering team in the role of system engineer for key projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve schedules by leveraging previous solutions, sharing engineering tools, and lessons learned from experience.
- Collaborating with external & internal customers to develop automated solutions for material handling systems.
- Attending and leading technical discussions with customers.
- Provide regular updates to Project Management and Executive Sponsor on the deliverable status, technical risks and contingency plans, and the engineering percent complete for your project.
- Working closely with our manufacturing and R&D teams to ensure that the quality and functionality of our products remains at the highest level.
- Attending training and product demonstrations offered by our suppliers to remain accurately informed of emerging technologies.
- Developing programs, standards, and processes for improvements in efficiency, quality, consistency, and accuracy of our MHS installations
- Other engineering and technical assignments when necessary for the growth and strength of the Company.
- Traveling for sales meetings, drawing accuracy audits, and equipment installations of supporting equipment and system start up programs on project sites (maximum of 3 consecutive weeks on site or as otherwise agreed upon with the Company)
- Individual may manage a team of junior engineers in the future. The candidate will possess the ability to manage and mentor team members effectively, fostering a cohesive and productive work environment.
- Support in providing guidance to a small team of engineers, encouraging professional development and growth.
- Approach problem-solving with a calm and balanced perspective, modeling effective behaviors for the team.
- Handle conflicts constructively, promoting a positive culture that values diversity and inclusion.
Qualification, Education, And Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- Have 3-5 years of proven experience in material handling industry. Strong technical background in engineering principles and methodologies
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- MS Office experience
- MS Project experience
- Advanced mathematics skills with the ability to understand and develop mathematical models
- capable of clearly communicating and presenting to both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to travel up to 20% to support sales, project design, and installations
- Proven experience in working with engineering teams. Comfortable working in a team environment
- Experienced and proactive problem solver
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to manage conflicts positively
- Ability to cultivate a supportive and productive team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Working Conditions, Location
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The company is not able to provide sponsorship for employment visas.
- This position may require frequent travel to project sites within specified area(s).
- Most tasks, projects, and communication with clients, team members, and Managers will be completed using a telephone, microphone, computer, and video technology.
- Although this is a full-time position (40 hours per week), extended hours and evenings may be required based on client needs.
