Job Summary
As a Senior Mechanical Designer, this individual is responsible for designing parts and products for both new product development and existing product enhancements. Their work emphasizes design for manufacturability and assembly, with extensive use of SolidWorks. They create detailed manufacturing drawings, apply proper tolerances, and conduct tolerance stack-up analyses. The role involves close collaboration with the Project Engineer and includes occasional hands-on work with prototype assembly and model shop tasks.

What Senior Mechanical Designers Do
* Essential Responsibilities*
* Participates in new product development and product improvement projects, generating design concepts and creating 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks.
* Designs parts for function, manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and standardization; collaborates closely with manufacturing and materials teams.
* Troubleshoots and resolves design and assembly issues; supports production changes and implements design updates.
* Develops and maintains part and assembly drawings per company drafting standards; updates drafting practices as needed.
* Supports product release processes including PDM, item master creation, and change control documentation.
* Sources new components and works with vendors to clarify designs, ensure part conformity, and issue revisions when necessary.
* Contributes to product literature and marketing materials with relevant drawings.
* Stays up to date with relevant technologies
* Performs all other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a production environment with mechanical assembly operations, and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
