We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and improvement of our product line.
Role Summary:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design of firearms and related systems, taking concepts from ideation through prototyping and into production. You’ll work closely with product development, testing, and manufacturing teams to ensure our firearms meet performance, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize firearm components and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
- Conduct detailed tolerance analysis and FEA to ensure performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate prototypes and drive product improvements.
- Lead design reviews, oversee DFM/DFA practices, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., ATF, MIL-SPEC, SAAMI).
- Provide engineering support through all phases of the product lifecycle, including sustaining engineering on legacy products.
- Interface with suppliers and vendors to evaluate materials, processes, and manufacturability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience, with at least 3 years in the firearms or defense industry.
- Proficient in 3D CAD and PDM systems.
- Strong understanding of materials, machining, metallurgy, and heat treatment processes.
- Hands-on experience with firearm testing, ballistics, and system integration.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with small arms design, recoil systems, and gas-operated mechanisms.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ITAR and export control regulations.
