• The role requires a driven individual with a strong technical background in mechanical engineering first principles, concept design, analysis, prototype development & test
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Mechatronics engineering, Physics or similar
• Experience in the design and development of high precision opto / electro-mechanical products such as sensors, transducers, antennas, radar, actuators, instrumentation, satellites etc
• Good experience in leading small internal projects and offering support and guidance to more junior engineers
• Proven design skills within highly regulated industries – Aerospace, Defence, Space, Biomedical, Automotive etc
• Good knowledge of design tools – Solidworks, Catia, Creo, NX etc coupled with FEA skills – Comsol, Ansys, Altair etc
• Structured and organised approach to mechanical engineering activities; ability to streamline processes and document design methods
• This role would suit a mechanical design / development engineer from a small to medium sized business who has experience in multiple aspects of the product design lifecycle
