Global law firm's DC office is seeking a Senior Manager - Talent Management Business Partner
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field;
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or its equivalent preferred;
Minimum 8 years of experience handling complex employee relations matters
This is an employee relations focused position
In this capacity, the Senior Manager, TMBP will:
Strategic Talent Management & Workforce Planning
* Lead annual talent assessments to identify high-potential employees, development areas, and career progression opportunities;
* Provide guidance and input on workforce planning, business restructures, and succession planning;
* Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Performance, and Compensation teams to advise on hiring, promotions, and internal mobility.
Employee Relations & Compliance
* Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations;
* Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, working closely with legal counsel when required;
* Provide guidance on HR policies, disciplinary actions, terminations, and performance feedback;
* Draft discipline, termination, and feedback documentation; and
* Participate in evaluating and monitoring training programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and alignment with business goals.
Leadership Support & Performance Management
* Act as a strategic partner to department leadership, conducting regular meetings to understand business needs and provide HR expertise;
* Offer day-to-day performance management guidance, including coaching, counseling, and career development strategies;
* Assist with the performance review cycle; and
* Work closely with management and employees to improve workplace relationships, boost morale, and enhance productivity.
HR Strategy & Data-Driven Insights
* Analyze HR metrics and trends to develop and implement talent management programs and policies;
* Support initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational effectiveness; and
* Perform additional HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field;
* SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or its equivalent preferred;
* Minimum 8 years of experience handling complex employee relations matters;
* Experience in a law firm or professional services organization required; and
* Strong understanding of HR disciplines, including performance management, employment laws, and compensation.
