About The Role

Springer Nature is seeking a Senior Manager, Product Operations for its Product Groups. The groups meet the needs of researchers through products that include Springer Nature Link, nature.com and new Solutions for the research community. This is an exciting opportunity as Product Groups look to reimagine our core researcher experiences, and we are looking for someone that can independently lead and drive work, drawing on the wider global team.

As a Senior Manager, Product Operations, you’ll be analyzing data from very highly trafficked websites and content. You will provide actionable analysis and insight into the behavior of researchers in their roles as authors and users of scientific information. You will be driving change that improves their experiences with Springer Nature, contributing to our purpose to advance discovery.

You’ll be working in close collaboration with product leads and managers to understand strategic priorities and partnering with the Product organization developing customer-driven and evidence-driven decision-making, enhancing customer experience and delivering growth impact.

Role responsibilities:

  • Empowering product management teams to easily make data-informed decisions
  • Exploring and analysing customer & product data to detect growth opportunities and to provide insights in the form of recommendations and action items - including A/B tests and pre/post analyses on feature usage to advise on feature adoption and evolution; analyse performance data of AI-based recommendation engines to measure the effectiveness in driving user engagement, etc.
  • Enhancing data collection and drive consistency and best-practice for front-end tracking approaches, team up with respective teams for implementations
  • Driving platform products organic growth through SEO, team up with related Global & Local teams for implementations
  • Contributing to the learning and experimentation culture of the Product Groups by promoting hypothesis-driven product development and evaluation
  • Other product management responsibility along with this evolving role & expanding into other related digital areas

Role requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar field
  • Working experience in Consulting / Data Analytics / Product Analytics
  • Hands-on experience of implementation and analysis from global & China local web analytics tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Baidu Analytics, Sensorsdata, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL (experience with Google BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform is a beneficial)
  • Solid understanding of SEO (search engine optimisation) and wider SEM (search engine marketing) in driving organic and paid digital growth (experience with both global & China local SEO / SEM is a beneficial)
  • Exhibit the capacity to solve product related problems using AI-based methods is beneficial. (For instance, using AI algorithms to predict product defects based on historical data or to segment customer more effectively for targeted engagement)
  • Proficiency of English and desire to work in an international environment, with highly engaged individuals
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt within the digital space as this role may evolve & expand into other related digital areas
  • Self-starter with ability to work with minimal direction and high level of ownership
  • Curiosity, reasoning skills with proven evidence of problem solving
  • Passionate about working with data
  • Familiar with Agile practices
