We are seeking a hands-on and technically adept IT Manager (or Associate Director, depending on experience) to lead our India-based IT operations. Reporting to the Global IT Lead, this role is a critical part of our global technology team, supporting a fast-growing, US-headquartered healthcare company on a path to IPO. Based in Chennai, you will oversee a team of 3–8 IT professionals, managing day-to-day IT operations, infrastructure, service delivery, and project execution in alignment with our global standards. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, fluent in English, who thrives in dynamic environments and has a passion for building reliable, secure, and scalable systems to support scientific and business innovation.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
8–12+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3–5 years in leadership or management roles.
Experience working with or reporting to global teams, especially in US-based organizations.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure including networks, servers, endpoints, and cloud platforms including Azure, and AWS.
Experience with ITIL processes and service management (e.g., incident, problem, and change management).
Familiarity with enterprise systems (ERP, HRIS, CRM), preferably within healthcare or life sciences environments.
Understanding of privacy and security frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, ISO 27001).
Leadership & Management
Proven experience managing teams of 3–10+ IT professionals, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
Ability to work effectively across time zones and in a global delivery model.
Experience managing external vendors and service providers.
Project & Operational Execution
Demonstrated ability to lead IT projects from planning to completion, including infrastructure rollouts, cloud migrations, and office expansions.
Experience managing IT budgets, asset procurement, and vendor negotiations.
Skilled in troubleshooting, incident response, and maintaining high levels of operational uptime.
Communication & Collaboration
Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken), with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong collaboration mindset with comfort in fast-paced, dynamic, start-up environments.
Preferred/Bonus Skills
Prior experience in a healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical company.
Professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.
