The candidate will work closely with the local implementation team, vendor, and stakeholders from general insurance business units to ensure the delivery of product-related initiatives and/or milestones. The candidate will implement in-house app-related initiatives specifically tailored to support the company's general insurance business and departmental goals to meet KPIs.
In addition, the candidate will assist the supervisor in managing the project scope and timeline to provide deliverables that meet quality standards and align with the specific needs of the general insurance business.
Job Requisitions
- Assist the supervisor to plan and execute strategic plan following the management direction
- Assist the supervisor to monitor and maintain system stability and provide solution to address the stability problem
- Align with DevOps and Agile delivery approach, tooling, and practices adoption to provide system enhancements
- Refactoring and continuous improvements of the code and processes
- Contributing to the ongoing support of the apps and ecosystem
- Capable to work individually and collaborate with distributed teams
Job Requirement
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry, with a strong focus on general insurance, including at least 3 years in a management role
- Minimum of 3 years in Team/People management, Vendor management, and Budget management, preferably within the general insurance sector
Skills/Knowledge
- Experience with Agile principles and methodologies, including tools such as Jira and Confluence, etc.
- Experience in using CI/CD tooling including Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Terraform, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of back-office processing of general insurance products, including policy administration, claims processing, and underwriting
- Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Java EE, JavaScript, .Net, C#, NodeJS (TypeScript), Spring, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with database technologies such as Oracle, Informix, DB2, MongoDB, Redis, MySQL, CosmoDB, and Hibernate
- Knowledge of using public cloud services, e.g., Azure, etc.
- Knowledge of containerization/orchestration, e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps scanning tools, e.g., Fortify, Nexus, SonarQube, BurpSuite, etc.
- Strong communication skills, multi-tasking and time management
- Good command of both Cantonese and English
