Job Title: Senior Manager - Cloud Operations Services Department (COS)

SUMMARY

FPT Telecom International is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager to lead our Cloud Operations Services (COS) Department. This role involves overseeing the delivery of managed cloud services utilizing OpenStack and VMware VCF technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in IT operations management, service delivery, ticketing systems, automation, and team leadership to ensure operational excellence.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage cloud operations for OpenStack and VMware environments, in collaboration with global partners.
  • Direct and mentor the Cloud Operations team to consistently meet or exceed defined SLAs and KPIs.
  • Design and optimize IT service management processes, including incident, request, change, and problem management workflows.
  • Drive automation efforts using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and scripting languages (Python, Shell) to streamline operations.
  • Oversee implementation and improvement of monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, vROps).
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for major incidents; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and service management best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Pre-sales, and Customer Success teams to support client requirements and feedback.
  • Manage resource capacity planning and implement cloud cost optimization strategies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed operational documentation including SOPs, runbooks, and process guides.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical & Leadership Competencies:

  • Proven experience in managing private cloud environments, specifically OpenStack and VMware VCF.
  • Experience with IT ticketing and service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or Freshservice.
  • Proficient in automation and configuration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Python, Shell).
  • Strong background in system monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Deep understanding of ITIL practices and operational excellence frameworks.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years in managing cloud infrastructure or IT operations teams.
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • VMware (VCP-DCV, VCAP, or equivalent)
  • OpenStack certifications
  • ITIL Foundation or higher
  • Cloud provider certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
