Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre – Senior Manager Audio Visual Services

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager – Audio Visual to support the General Manager – Nyaal Banyul in delivering strategic goals for Nyaal Banyul and the Victorian Convention and Event Trust (VCET).

This role enhances the customer experience through the delivery of seamless Audio Visual and production services in line with our vision and purpose.

Set to open in 2026 on the Geelong Waterfront, Nyaal Banyul will be Australia’s newest convention and event centre. Operated by the Victorian Convention and Event Trust (VCET), this premier venue features a 1,000-seat theatre and 3,700 square meters of versatile event space, ready to host everything from community gatherings to major conferences and entertainment events.

About the Role

• Report directly to the General Manager Nyaal Banyul, this role will enhance the customer experience through the delivery of seamless audio visual and production services
• Focus on people capability, team leadership, collaboration with internal departments
• Support project readiness for venue opening
• Lead the day-to-day operation of Nyaal Banyul Audio Visual Department providing strong and visible leadership
• Drive engagement and collaboration with internal departments to plan and coordinate key event elements
• Drive a culture of codifying processes, procedures and guidelines
• Keep abreast of all related regulations/legislation including Safety, Health & Well Being and Quality Assurance
• Lead continual operational improvements to drive productivity, efficiency and service excellence
• Set the tone for exceptional customer experience and guide and develop the Event & Venue Operations teams in customer relations matters
• Drive and develop initiatives and programs that continually improve the customer and visitor offering by uplifting employee capability, high performance and accountability.
• Participate in budget and forecasting meetings and manage Divisional expenses according to the budget.

About you:

• Extensive experience in Audio Visual senior leadership particularly related to the delivery of concurrent and large-scale events in a multi-faceted environment
• A successful track record in interpreting event information and leading a large, diverse teams to deliver to client, customer and visitor expectations
• Sound conceptual and analytical skills together with a proven track record of strategically managing operations within budget requirements
• Ability to successfully communicate with clients and manage contractors and suppliers
