Help build AI innovations that strengthen the Netherlands

As a Senior ML Engineer, you will work as a technical expert within the AI teams of our partners. Together with a Kickstart AI colleague, you will form a team where you apply your expertise to some of the most challenging AI projects in the Netherlands. This unique position, where you work on 2-3 projects simultaneously, gives you the opportunity to make the maximum impact. By working intensively with different teams, you will not only help realize technical solutions but also strengthen the entire Dutch AI ecosystem.

What you will do as a Machine Learning Engineer

You will dive deeply into the technical challenges of each project. You will design scalable ML infrastructure, implement MLOps best practices, and ensure that machine learning solutions are actually deployed into production. You will work closely with an ML Project Manager, who handles the business side, while you take responsibility for the technical aspects. From experimenting with the latest AI techniques to building robust deployment pipelines—you will ensure that AI works not just in theory, but in practice. You will become part of a thriving community of over 7,500 of the brightest AI professionals in the Netherlands, where we work together to build innovations that move the Netherlands forward.

In concrete terms, you will:

• Develop ML solutions that have a direct impact

• Stimulate knowledge sharing within the Dutch AI community

You will join an ambitious network of AI experts working together on meaningful innovation. We regularly organize TechDays where you can share knowledge with the best AI professionals from companies like ING, KLM, and NS. As a technical individual contributor, you will not only help make projects successful but also contribute to accelerating the responsible adoption of AI in the Netherlands.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced ML engineer who combines technical expertise with a strong focus on collaboration. You thrive when you can dive deep into the technical side while also sharing your expertise with others. As a team player, you understand that the best solutions arise from combining different perspectives and expertise.

• At least 5 years of experience in machine learning engineering
• Proven experience with complex ML projects
• In-depth expertise in MLOps and production ML systems
• Experience in sharing technical knowledge
• Strong in translating challenges into technical solutions
• Excellent communication skills
• Hands-on mentality and a pragmatic approach
• Passion for AI with societal impact
