Job Description
The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Senior Linux Server Administrator to serve as the primary point of contact for the installation, configuration, management and maintenance of Linux-based servers and systems for USSTRATCOM. This role requires a high level of expertise in Linux environments and a commitment to supporting mission-critical operations. The work location for this position is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.
Responsibilities
Server Administrator (Linux), Senior:
- Installs, configures, and maintains Linux servers and associated software applications
- Performs regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure server stability and security
- Monitors server performance and troubleshoots issues to ensure optimal functionality
- Operates, sustains, and backs up the server (physical/virtual) IAW applicable policies for USSTRATCOM
- Manages and monitors the operation of the server (physical/virtual) to ensure proper operation and troubleshoot, analyze, isolate, and document the root cause of issues that arise
- Provides day-to-day operations by maintaining, managing, monitoring, and patching for Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) and non-IAVA compliance and administering server systems on the Enterprise IT
- Ensures secure access to Linux systems, maintaining proper permissions and user management
- Collaborates with application developers, network engineers, and other IT staff to support project initiatives
- Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments
- Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments
- May supervise others
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux server administration, preferably in a government or military environment
- Required 8140 Cert: 451 - Intermediate; Cloud+ or GICSP or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC; OR Applicable degree ABET accredited/CAE designated; OR Training
AND
- Additional Cert: CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), or other related Linux certification
- Proficiency in various Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Strong knowledge of shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Ansible)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM)
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards

The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is
$78,000 - $163,800
