At ASM, as Senior / Lead Software Engineer you'll work on delivering software that has immediate, tangible results visible in the operation of semiconductor processing equipment hardware. As a senior in the team, you will play a pioneering role in shaping the future we live in, by working directly on our current and future epitaxial reactor product lines for Silicon Carbide applications - some of the most cutting-edge tools that the semiconductor industry has to offer. How to make the difference: Design, develop and troubleshoot computer software, including embedded software for control systems Author, revise, and review system specifications, software designs, test plans and other software documentation Provide support to technical management to define new technologies and synergies with other departments Develop schedules for software development efforts Evaluate new software and hardware tools for possible department use Investigate both internal and external inquiries, questions and problem reports. Offer problem analysis, solutions, or alternatives resulting from these investigations Collaboration is key: Lead different projects in small-mid sized project teams Together with our team of electrical engineers, implement efficient automated testing strategies at different levels (both hardware and software) Participate in system design sessions Travel the world from time to time to work with our customers, where it may be required to support installations, lead training, and troubleshooting of products Main requirements: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or related degrees A minimum of 10 years of experience in complex machinery equipment Strong in at least one of the following: C, C++ or C# Extensive experience in EtherCAT, VISION systems and PLC programming Ability to read code and understand the functionality implemented and to translate the functionality into another piece of software Write software documentation including specification and design documents Preferred requirements: Experience within Semiconductor industry Experience with tools such as Beckhoff and SECs Gem An architect mindset - understand the system ‘big picture’ and how new functionality fits into that system Excellent communication skills to discuss with engineering groups to determine the true software requirements Excellent project management skills (or at least a strong ambition to manage projects).
