THE POSITION

Reporting to the USP Team Manager of the Characterization & Commercial Readiness group, the Senior Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the realization of development work within a group of the Biologics Development Center.

For this position, we are looking for a motivated candidate with excellent technical and communication skills that has performed experiments related to purification of biologics. The candidate must have demonstrated these past technical capabilities on these topics and team player behavior.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

  • Support project leads in planning of experiments, evaluating required resources, and review of lab-related documentation
  • Conduct upstream operations using various bioreactor types, including: Ambr250, wave bioreactors and bench-scale bioreactors
  • Participate in the assessment, implementation and transfer of state-of-the-art technologies for the production of biologics
  • Support qualification, organization, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities
  • Contribute to the goals of the USP Late-Stage team, and C&CR (Characterization & Commercial Readiness) group
  • Participate in ensuring that good laboratory practices and HSE rules are observed within the laboratory


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in scientific or engineering disciplines or equivalent vocational training with a background in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related
  • You are proficient in aseptic cell culture techniques
  • Skilled in standard laboratory methods for cultivating suspension cell cultures using single-use bioreactors (SUBs)
  • You are available for weekend work and on-call duty
  • 1+ years of direct experience in Biologics, CDMO, and regulated organizations
  • Experience with late-stage practices, such as QbD is highly desirable
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written); German language skills are a plus
  • Hands-on mentality, well-organized, and strong teamwork skills
