About The Project

We are looking for someone who has experience working in projects that integrate new e-commerce storefronts with existing Java-based enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java development, hands-on experience with platforms like Shopify, B2Bwave, or Magento, and a solid understanding of API design and system architecture. You’ll play a key role in the early planning and integration phases and continue supporting the development effort through Q1 2026, ensuring smooth implementation and scalable architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Planning (Target Start: May 2025):

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define technical requirements and design a scalable solution architecture.
• Design a secure, JSON-based Single Sign-On (SSO) integration between the existing Java platform and the new e-commerce storefront.

Java & API Development:

• Build inbound APIs to expose product/catalog data from the core system to the e-commerce storefront.
• Develop outbound APIs to transmit order and fulfillment data from the storefront to third-party vendors and back to the Java platform.

Development Support & Enablement:

• Act as a senior technical resource to the delivery team—resolving technical challenges, providing guidance, and contributing to codebase quality.
• Conduct code reviews and promote best practices in performance, maintainability, and security.
• Provide hands-on development as needed to accelerate delivery and unblock teams.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work closely with front-end, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment processes.
• Document architectural decisions, API contracts, and development workflows for long-term maintainability.
  

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of Java development experience, with proven involvement in system architecture.
• Hands-on experience working with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, B2Bwave, Magento).
• Proficiency in secure SSO design using JSON-based protocols (OAuth, JWT).
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with vendor integration workflows and order management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and mentorship skills.
• Comfortable working remotely across time zones and collaborating with distributed teams.
  

Nice to have Experience

• Knowledge of microservices architectures and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Background in B2B e-commerce solutions or custom storefront implementations.
• Exposure to modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) to assist with full-stack coordination.
