Position Overview

Position: Java Developer – Cloud & Transformation Projects

Location: Tokyo, Japan | Full-Time

Workplace Type: 50% WFH 50% office

Annual salary: Up to 13M JPY

Our client is currently undertaking a major transformation in our technology organization, focusing on modernizing the developer experience and boosting productivity through cutting-edge cloud platforms and software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools.

As part of this initiative, they are seeking an experienced Java Developer with a passion for innovation and a strong technical foundation to join our team. You will be involved in building scalable, reliable, and efficient technology solutions that support the firm’s growth, operational excellence, and evolving client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute across the full development cycle: from system analysis and technical design to data mapping, implementation, and testing.
• Provide high-level (L3) support for production environments, working closely with the Production Support team to ensure system stability and quick issue resolution.
• Continuously improve existing systems and tools through proactive re-engineering efforts, boosting performance and user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver robust technical solutions.

Requirements

Must have:

• Fluent English
• Must have a valid working permit to work in Japan
• 7+ Java / Spring Framework development experience
• Deep understanding of Multithreading and Core Java is mandatory
• Working experience in Linux environments
• Proficient in writing unit and integration tests.
