Job Description

The Data Warehouse Platform is part of the Data Platform Tribe, which is tasked with empowering data professionals throughout Danske Bank. The Data Platform Tribe acts as the “Professional Data Warehousing Team”, sourcing and managing data from various systems within the bank’s geographies. It effectively utilises the Group’s infrastructure to provide timely and accurate data, supporting business intelligence and regular reports for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies. The tribe holds technical ownership of the infrastructure supporting the group-wide data platform and possesses in-depth knowledge of the data held by Danske Bank.

The Data Platform Tribe is responsible for building and maintaining the latest data platform across the Group. This team supports data professionals from all group functions and assists other squads within the tribe in delivering key initiatives in areas such as data ingestion, processing, curation, orchestration, protection, and management.

You will join a dynamic and multicultural team focused on maintaining and developing the data platform. As a Senior IT Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimising our SQL domain and contribute significantly to our migration to the public cloud, ensuring seamless integration and enhanced performance.

Depending on your experience and knowledge, we may offer you a different level of seniority for the role.

You will:

• Maintain MS SQL database infrastructure
• Improve scalability, availability, and efficiency of database infrastructure
• Apply best practices whenever possible and establish/follow procedures for critical activities
• Manage service capacity planning, software performance analysis, and system tuning
• Ensure the healthy lifecycle status of database infrastructure components
• Automate processes
• Provide feedback to stakeholders to enhance the availability and efficiency of business applications through support and collaboration
• Maintain technical documentation
  
  

About you:

• At least 5 years of experience working with MS SQL Server
• Experience in SQL query optimisation and performance metrics
• Experience in SQL Server optimisation and performance management
• Analytical skills and the ability to process complex information
• Experience within database projects, partitions, indexes
• A self-driven and organised work ethic with a curious and open mindset
• A team player with a good sense of ownership, motivation and willingness to stay on track and develop projects/tasks to completion
• Upper-Intermediate English skills
• Experience with public cloud [AWS] and/or Databricks would be beneficial

We offer:

Monthly salary range from 4480 EUR to 6720 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
