Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager (Healthcare/Data Management Focus)

Location: On-Site – Austin, TX (Local Texas Candidates Only)

Duration: 4 Months (Possibility of Extension)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager with deep experience in data warehousing, data lakes, Agile methodologies, and the healthcare industry, ideally within public sector or health and human services environments. This role is a full-time, on-site contract opportunity based in Austin, TX, supporting a high-impact, data-driven initiative.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage IT projects with a focus on data integration, cloud analytics, and enterprise reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data architects, analytics teams, and IT leadership.
  • Create and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Ensure alignment with state and federal compliance standards.
  • Oversee procurement processes and contribute to RFP development.
  • Guide Agile project teams using Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
  • Report project status to leadership and manage risks, issues, and resolutions.
  • Drive the development of federally approved funding documents (IAPDs).
  • Produce all necessary project documentation in compliance with the DIR Project Delivery Framework.


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of IT project management experience.
  • Proven track record in data management projects (warehousing, lakes, analytics, BI).
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies, including sprints, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing and maintaining project documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability in team leadership, progress tracking, and stakeholder communication.
  • Hands-on experience with PMLC and SDLC.
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets and tracking tools.
  • PMP certification (must provide certificate number in resume).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the healthcare industry, especially public health or human services.
  • Familiarity with multi-agency/multi-department projects.
  • Experience in Access & Eligibility programs or working with state Health and Human Services organizations.
  • Knowledge of Texas State IT environments and vendor management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in matrixed team environments.
