Create Detailed Technical Drawings: Use computer-aided design (CAD) software or manual drafting techniques to create precise drawings for building projects, products, or systems, such as floor plans, elevations, and sections.
Collaborate with Architects/Engineers: Work closely with architects, engineers, or other design professionals to ensure the technical accuracy of the drawings and plans. They may be involved in revising and adjusting designs based on feedback.
Interpret and Translate Ideas: Convert conceptual designs into technical, construction-ready blueprints. This can include dimensions, materials, and tolerances.
Ensure Compliance: Ensure that all designs and drawings meet relevant standards, regulations, and codes (building codes, safety regulations, etc.).
Produce 3D Models (Optional): In some cases, draughtspersons may create 3D models of their designs using specialized software like Revit, AutoCAD, or SketchUp to help visualize the final product.
Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM): In some cases, they may also assist in preparing lists of materials needed for construction or manufacturing based on the design.
Review sketches, designs and specifications to ensure all necessary details are included and meet building codes and regulations.
Create 3D and 2D models for construction, manufacturing or product development.
Revise and update drawings based on client feedback, changes in design or adjustment in regulations.
