Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering. Professional certifications, such as Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or Certified Automation Professional (CAP), are preferred but not mandatory.
Experience: Minimum of 7-15 years of experience as an Instrumentation Engineer in the energy, oil and gas, or related industries. Proficiency in design software, control systems, and PLC programming is essential.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles, process control systems, and various instrumentation devices and technologies. Proficient in AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar engineering software.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze and diagnose complex instrumentation issues, propose effective solutions, and implement them in a timely manner.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills. Must be able to effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines. Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Design and Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to develop instrumentation and control system engineering designs, specifications, and drawings that meet project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.
Installation and Testing: Oversee the installation, inspection, and commissioning of instrumentation systems on project sites. Ensure proper testing and calibration of instruments to guarantee accurate measurements and reliable performance.
Quality and Compliance: Ensure all instrumentation systems meet applicable standards, codes, and regulations. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, datasheets, reports, and user manuals for instrumentation systems. Monitor project progress, prepare progress reports, and communicate updates to the project team and stakeholders.
Technical Support: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including process engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers, to develop integrated solutions. Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members when required.
