Class Description

The Quality Assurance Coordinator will develop, implement, and manage processes of quality assurance to ensure that all the 450+ online and blended classes at CCBC meet nationally recognized standards in online education. The coordinator will also advise and assist faculty members in designing and creating high quality courses in accordance with the instructional and teaching policies of CCBC. The coordinator will work closely with various departments to promote a culture of quality and inclusivity. Candidates must possess knowledge and skills in instructional design, as well as in-depth knowledge of both digital accessibility standards and quality assurance processes.

Minimum Requirements

Master's degree in one of the following required: Instructional Systems, Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Design, Education, or related field. Five (5) years of full-time experience in Instructional Design in higher education required. Demonstrated three (3) experience in:

  • quality assurance practices in online education,
  • meeting digital accessibility standards,
  • developing online and blended/hybrid classes,
  • managing complex technology-based projects,
  • facilitating online training or teaching online or blended courses in higher education, preferred

Quality assurance in online education certification preferred, if hired, Quality Matters Certification must be obtained within six months of employment.

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale .

Class Specific Essential Duties

  • Provide consultation and assistance to CCBC faculty in the application of instructional design and instructional technology through substantive experience, collaboration and problem resolution.
  • Design and develop courses and training applying current instructional technology principles.
  • Conduct training workshops in area of assignment; conduct research, present information, develop materials, consider delivery format.
  • Remain current on instructional technology/design research.
  • Assist in assessing the instructional effectiveness of course materials that are produced through advanced knowledge, skill and expertise.
  • Provide periodic reports on course development projects and faculty development needs.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  • Provide support in the development and implementation of online learning courses and programs.
  • Promote new developments throughout the college in online learning technologies, best practices, quality assurance and pedagogy.
  • Assist in managing the implementation of Quality Matters at CCBC including: maintaining review and trainer certification and active involvement with promoting Quality Matters in course development.
  • Conduct training for faculty to meet instructional design and development learning opportunities and needs.
  • Provide instructional design, development and evaluation services.
  • Assist and support the research planning, design, and development of professional development resources.
  • Collaborate with instructional technology staff to ensure effective communications and support needs for online learning courses.
  • Manage CCBC’s quality assurance process based on Quality Matters standards, including revising and implementing processes and procedures, updating appropriate technology, and scheduling review teams.
  • Conducts quality assurance reviews based on Quality Matters standards.
  • Provide training in quality assurance measures to faculty and staff.

Long-Term Disability

The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
