The Senior Infrastructure Architect is responsible for providing technical leadership to define the strategy, roadmap, standards and blueprints for Infrastructure platforms and services as well as to design and build fit-for-purpose, cost-effective and robust Infrastructure Technology Solutions to support the delivery of an IT project to meet requirements. They work closely with Application and Enterprise Architects to align the infrastructure strategy with all domains of the enterprise architecture.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Management

• Represents IT team and engages project stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the infrastructure or application project, based on the analysis of their needs and potential impact on project success.
• Provides a central point of information for all related technology activities of the infrastructure or application project when attending meetings and appropriate management forums.
• Promotes collaboration among banking divisions impacted by the infrastructure or application project
  
  

Infrastructure Architecture

• Drives the definition of infrastructure architecture and roadmap including Architecture vision, principles, standards and policies
• Targets state blueprints and roadmap for infrastructure architecture strategy
• Maintains and facilitates the process for infrastructure lifecycle management
• Defines and champions the use of the infrastructure standards, procedures and best practice within the team
• Works closely with Application and Enterprise Architects to align the infrastructure strategy with the enterprise architecture (all technology domains) and business strategy
• Socializes and secures support for infrastructure architecture strategy and roadmap from key stakeholders
• Ensures the infrastructure team fully understands, follows and champions the technology standards and patterns as defined within Information Management
• Leads analysis of the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
• Monitors and ensures compliance to corporate control standards for quality and security
• Coordinates and ensures consistency in process and content across infrastructure architecture
• Participates in relevant solution design review activities to ensure alignment to infrastructure architecture, infrastructure strategies and architecture principles
• Participates in architecture governance forums
• Supports Infrastructure and Solution Architects and technical teams in identifying and assessing options
• Reviews proposed infrastructure designs
• Leads analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the infrastructure architecture
• Participates and contributes to relevant industry, alliance and technology forums
• Provides technical leadership and escalation support for the resolution of defects, incidents and problems during the testing, implementation and transition phases of the projects
• Proactively draws out all types of requirements on the IT Infrastructure from stakeholders by using a variety of elicitation techniques
• Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details and distinguish users requests from the underlying business problems
• Provides technical advice to colleagues on the use of the IT Infrastructure and integration of various business applications onto Bank’s Infrastructure
• Shows initiative and makes time available to ensure general technical competencies and specializations are kept up-to-date in line with industry developments for self and team
• Collaborates with other architectural domains to drive business and technology innovation
• Keeps abreast of the corporate strategy, business plan and latest industry trends
  
  

Training and Development

• Stays current on technical specifications for hardware and software products by attending technical trainings and other learning opportunities
• Collaborates with other Enterprise Architects to encourage knowledge sharing and growth
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in IT or related courses
• At least 8 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in infrastructure strategy and architecture design and must have proven technical management and specialist
• Has experience of working in a complex IT infrastructure environment
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing cross functional teams
• Has working knowledge on the Open Group Architecture Framework, AWS Well Architected Framework or similar Enterprise Architecture methodologies
• Has working Knowledge on ITIL Framework
• Has working Knowledge on IT Infrastructure Design and Planning
