Summary

Overview:

The Hays Group, a privately held group of construction and infrastructure companies, is seeking a reliable and experienced Senior HR Manager to assume leadership over key human resources functions.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with current California and federal labor laws
  • Oversee payroll operations and staff across multiple companies
  • Provide support for onboarding, terminations, and employee-related documentation
  • Coordinate benefit programs including health plans, 401(k), and leave policies
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and legislative HR changes
  • Draft, update, and implement company policies and procedures
  • Support HR reporting, recordkeeping, and internal audits
  • Act as a resource for management regarding personnel practices and company policies
  • Lead resolution of employee matters in coordination with management and legal as appropriate


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience
  • Strong working knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing or overseeing payroll staff or functions
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems
  • Strong writing and documentation skills
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Previous experience with a Construction Company is a plus
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug test/background
  • Required to have a valid Driver’s License and
