Summary

Ford Model E is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities - such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling - to create ground-up, breakthrough electric vehicles. As a Senior Electrical Hardware Systems Engineer, you will be the primary technical point of contact for low voltage controllers within the vehicle. You will be responsible for the complete end-to-end integration of in-house electronic control units within the electrical architecture and participate in system-level design activities for all interfacing subsystems. You will collaborate closely with the hardware development team, providing specifications and requirements for controller design. You will facilitate all related workstreams and ensure seamless integration of your module into the vehicle. You will conceptualize, design, engineer, develop, and support the launch of next-generation vehicle platform architectures for electric vehicles. What you'll do... * Drive creation and development of electrical architecture content and maintain logical hardware block diagrams with all types of inputs and outputs captured and defined * Serve as primary technical point of contact for your control module, creating release artifacts and facilitating communication and collaboration between various teams * Perform detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to aid in translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications * Partner with the vehicle architecture team to establish electrical system and network communication requirements, optimizing designs for electrical hardware * Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to effectively define and track electrical interfaces between various system components within the architecture * Decompose system functionality into modular components, collaborate directly with EDS teams to define connection interfaces and I/O allocation based on vehicle topology * Execute comprehensive technical planning, system integration, and verification and validation to support prototype bring up activities and ensure functional hardware components * Identify required test data collection needs and assist with conducting testing to help recreate events, identify anomalies, and determine corrective actions What you'll do... * Drive creation and development of electrical architecture content and maintain logical hardware block diagrams with all types of inputs and outputs captured and defined * Serve as primary technical point of contact for your control module, creating release artifacts and facilitating communication and collaboration between various teams * Perform detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to aid in translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications * Partner with the vehicle architecture team to establish electrical system and network communication requirements, optimizing designs for electrical hardware * Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to effectively define and track electrical interfaces between various system components within the architecture * Decompose system functionality into modular components, collaborate directly with EDS teams to define connection interfaces and I/O allocation based on vehicle topology * Execute comprehensive technical planning, system integration, and verification and validation to support prototype bring up activities and ensure functional hardware components * Identify required test data collection needs and assist with conducting testing to help recreate events, identify anomalies, and determine corrective actions
