This team focuses on computing and hardware for Azure Quantum, a comprehensive, open cloud ecosystem that aims to bring the benefits of quantum computing to individuals and organizations worldwide. It provides a full-stack solution, including quantum solutions, software, and hardware, all accessible through Azure.

This role will contribute to working with the DARPA agency to deliver designs and specifications for this program. The role involves supporting the DARPA program as well as providing additional PM support for hardware and test measurement equipment. The Hardware Program Manager will lead several Systems HW subcomponent/subsystem developments, from the concept phase to the development phase and then to the verification/validation phase.

Typical Task Breakdown and Operating Rhythm:

• Government Programs Documentation
• Specification Writing
• Using ADO and JAMA
• Working on Program Schedules for overall HW system or its subsystem modules
• Supporting Test & Measurement of Cryogenic Fridges (test systems for quantum devices)
• Scheduling and Implementing Test System Upgrades
• Conducting Weekly Test System Bug Triage
• Other PM tasks as determined

Job Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and manage schedules and budgets for the design, prototyping, and production of hardware.
• Manage technology development projects from R&D to prototype stages.
• Identify problem areas, drive issues to closure, and ensure a solid understanding of root causes.
• Communicate complex issues and trade-offs to development partners and management.
• Present technical progress reports and build tracking dashboards.
• Oversee engineering programs and cross-functional teams across multiple geographical locations.
• Support integrated systems testing through firmware and software development or test and measurement equipment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.
• Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.
• Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions.
• Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment.
• Previous experience at major tech companies working on HW-related products
• Previous experience working in Quantum-related teams
• Experience with HW development including EE or RF, and related test and measurement
• Previous Program Management or HW Development Management experience
• Past work experience with the US government
• 10+ years overall experience in HW development/validation.
• Degrees or Certifications Required:
• Electrical Engineering degree is required.
