Responsibilities

• Architect and develop backend services in TypeScript and Node.js for a financial analytics platform.
• Enhance and optimise complex data models to address sophisticated business challenges.
• Design and implement infrastructure as code using AWS and Pulumi.
• Uphold best practices in software engineering, including code quality, automated testing, documentation, and peer reviews.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering their technical growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organisational and client objectives.
• Participate in full-stack development tasks while focusing primarily on backend projects.
• Contribute to the migration of services from ECS to Kubernetes.

Required Skills

• A minimum of 7 years of professional programming experience.
• Proven ability to lead teams or projects and deliver high-quality software independently.
• Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining scalable web applications.
• Extensive experience in deploying and managing cloud-based applications.
• Experience with a wide range of AWS services
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/ES6+ and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with strongly-typed programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or C#.
• Advanced knowledge of Node.js and Linux-based environments.
• In-depth experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Expertise in working with SQL databases.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
