About the role...

We are seeking a product-focused Senior Frontend Web Engineer with experience developing rich user experiences to join our team in New York City. As a Senior Frontend Web Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the user interfaces for our web applications, working closely with our design team to create intuitive and responsive user experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Be a leader in the codebase - a stack that includes React, GraphQL, Next.js, Storybook, Tailwind, and Emotion
• Work closely with our product and design team to translate wireframes and prototypes into rich user experiences
• Use a product-driven approach to development, thinking critically about the product strategy and ways to implement it efficiently
• Collaborate directly with the Head of Engineering to make architectural decisions and improvements to the development experience
• Write automated tests to ensure the quality and stability of our codebase
• Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other engineers
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in front-end development

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in front-end web development
• Senior level proficiency in JavaScript. React, Next.js, and GraphQL experience a plus
• Strong understanding of User Experience Engineering - experience with CSS frameworks (we use Tailwind), CSS animations, and best practice Single Page Application design a plus
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, etc.)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for writing beautiful code and deep thinking about how users interact with your code
