Position: Senior FP&A Analyst

Location: Newark, CA (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite)

Start Date: Mid-July 2025

Contract Duration: Through end of 2025

About the Role:

A leading organization in the biotech/life sciences sector is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to join their Finance team on a temporary basis. This role will support a key team member during their maternity leave and contribute to a smooth transition through several quarter-end close cycles. The selected candidate will work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, reporting directly to finance leadership and partnering closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including commission calculations
• Serve as an FP&A partner for business units (approx. 25–30% of time)
• Perform financial forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting
• Assist in the transition from HFM to OneStream for financial reporting
• Utilize Power BI and Excel to develop dashboards and support data-driven decision-making
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the broader accounting team

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of experience in FP&A, ideally within a fast-paced or highly regulated environment
• Strong Excel skills; experience with Power BI is preferred
• Familiarity with financial systems such as HFM, OneStream, or similar
• Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively across teams
• Available to start by mid-July 2025 and work onsite in Newark, CA 3 days per week

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience in the healthcare, biotech, or life sciences industry
• Experience with commission modeling and reporting
