Our multi-state retail client with over 240 locations is seeking a results-driven Senior Financial Analyst to join a dynamic team supporting a growing, diversified business. In this role, you’ll play a key part in financial planning, performance tracking, cost analysis, and strategic support across several service lines including fuel delivery, maintenance, and inspections.
This is a high-impact role that will work cross-functionally with operations, sales, procurement, and executive leadership to deliver actionable insights and help drive decision-making in a complex, asset-heavy environment.
Location: 5 days in-office to start, transitioning to 4 days in-office after approximately one month. (Springfield, VA)
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and profitability across various service lines (e.g., fuel delivery, maintenance, inspections).
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with operations, sales, and procurement teams.
- Analyze monthly financial performance vs. budget and prior periods; identify and explain variances.
Business Performance Monitoring
- Track KPIs such as service margin per site, fuel volume throughput, equipment uptime, and technician utilization.
- Evaluate profitability of service contracts, routes, or customer segments.
- Prepare dashboard reporting for executive leadership to guide operational decisions.
Cost & Margin Analysis
- Analyze cost structures of servicing operations: fuel transportation, technician labor, parts/equipment, and regulatory compliance.
- Recommend ways to optimize costs (e.g., route efficiency, equipment leasing vs. purchasing).
- Partner with procurement to evaluate vendor pricing and negotiate better terms.
Strategic Support
- Support M&A analysis or regional expansion by modeling financial impacts of new gas station accounts or service areas.
- Conduct ROI analysis for capital expenditures (e.g., investing in new service trucks, diagnostics equipment, or tech platforms).
- Help define pricing strategies for new services or contracts.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and industry-specific financial regulations
- Liaise with accounting for accurate accruals and revenue recognition based on service delivery.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 3-5+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the consumer services industry.
- Strong expertise in cash flow forecasting, financial modeling, and fixed asset management.
- Proficiency in Excel, financial reporting tools, and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
