We are currently recruiting for a Senior Field Service Engineer specialising in SGT-600 Turbines to complete the installation, commissioning and repair of machines and installations across determined geographical regions, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
This position is customer facing and will require extensive travel.
Job Responsibilities
- Dismantle machines or parts to inspect parts (SGT-600) for defects or to remove defective parts and replace them with new parts or carry out repairs.
- Read and understand both oral and written basic technical information and documentation.
- Prepare information for and complete regular reports.
- Use of proven procedures, such as operating and maintenance manuals, to perform necessary repairs and maintenance and to evaluate parts.
- Carrying out general overhauls on SGT-600 gas turbines with proper documentation of the repair, including the condition of the plant.
- Preventive maintenance work and documentation of all activities on gas turbines as well as repair of damage events.
- Instructing other technicians on turbine-related problems and assisting them in the performance of their tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all security procedures, policies and rules for the relevant site and company.
- Management and coordination of subcontractors and fitters.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Willingness to travel (70%).
- Ability to work in a team.
- Regularly participates in all company relevant training programs.
- Driving licence desired.
- Must participate in medical examinations and reference controls.
Experience
- Extensive experience with Siemens Energy SGT-600 gas turbines.
- Work experience with hand and power tools required to perform tasks.
- English skills essential, German language skills are an advantage (willingness to learn German)
Education Requirements
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
Physical Requirements
- Must be physically fit and capable of heights.
- Willingness to travel (70%).
