About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Executive - Payroll to join our Finance team. In this role, you will lead payroll operations, ensure compliance with labor laws, and manage critical month-end closing activities. The ideal candidate is a proactive finance professional with strong analytical capabilities, leadership qualities, and the ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams, especially HR and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive MIS reports; participate in monthly reviews with senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with HR-related legal and regulatory requirements (labor law compliances).
  • Monitor changes in payroll and HR compliance laws; update internal policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate employee records including attendance, benefits, and tax information.
  • Collaborate with Finance and HR departments to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Provide prompt and professional support to employee payroll and compliance inquiries.
  • Submit periodic reports on payroll and HR compliance to management.
  • Manage and mentor a team, overseeing performance, coaching, and professional development.
  • Conduct variance analysis between actuals and budgets, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in internal and statutory audits and implement suggested financial controls.
  • Prepare and post accrual entries for accurate financial reporting.
  • Facilitate daily team huddles to track and monitor deliverables.
  • Ensure accurate vendor payments through meticulous ledger review.
  • Record journal entries and oversee accruals/prepaid expenses for financial integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification (CA Inter) preferred.
  • 3–4 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of ERP accounting systems; experience with SAP/H4 Hana is highly preferred.
