What This Role Will Achieve
- Drives visibility strategy, messaging, and execution for key U.S.-based Neo4j global executives
- Manages top-of-funnel earned media awareness for the company, product, and category across the Americas with a particular focus on the U.S. market, and operating as part of a global communications team.
Responsibilities
Develops and implements a comprehensive external executive visibility strategy for key US-based senior executives. Specifics:
- 60%: Builds and manages U.S.-based global executive thought leadership and earned visibility. Assists executives in developing platforms, bylines, presentations, speeches, and public statements.
- Serves as writer to U.S.-based global senior executives, including driving the creation and delivery of compelling, executive-level earned speaking presentation materials (slides, scripts, messaging documents, and thought leadership).
- Prepares these executives for media interviews and external earned speaking engagements.
- Researches and monitors industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for enhancing executive communications.
- Identifies high-value executive engagements that provide the optimal platform to reach our audiences, with compelling, data-rich content that informs and inspires them.
- Manages earned speaking engagements and other high-level comms opportunities.
- 30%: Develops and executes communications strategies to drive Americas media coverage in close collaboration with global PR colleagues and local agencies.
- Manage contacts with local PR agencies to build excellent relationships with key media and secure media opportunities.
- Manage corporate narrative, partnering with Marketing on storytelling strategy, and how that informs SEO, reputation management, and more.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with marketing, product, commercial leads, and senior leadership to craft compelling messaging and storylines.
- 10%: Serves as an integrated part of Neo4j’s global communications and marketing team.
- Collaborates with global comms colleagues (PR, AR, Social, Customer Advocacy) to ensure consistent and effective messages, coordinate media briefings, corporate and product launches, etc.
- Issues management and external comms response/support as part of global staffing model where needed.
- Partners with Marketing and GTM colleagues on integrated external communications and content strategies.
Location: San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle, given proximity to key U.S. executives as well as the location of other global comms colleagues ensuring 24/7 operational excellence. This role requires domestic and international travel.
Qualifications
- Exceptional writing, editing, verbal and visual organizational skills, with the ability to articulate a clear point of view on complicated issues in crisp, concise communications. We seek candidates with a track record of delivering results by producing high-quality, clear content, and who insist on the highest standards for quality and attention to detail while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in B2B enterprise tech and emerging tech. Neo4j is a category creator within a fast-paced, rapidly evolving market, requiring intellectual agility, curiosity, and competency with rich technical information in emerging tech categories, all while having the ability to level up to C-level and generalist audiences.
- Trusted by executive leaders and cross-functional teams, balancing proactive guidance and strategy with flawless delivery. This includes the ability to provide guidance and support to executives during high-pressure situations and ensure timely and accurate communication to relevant stakeholders.
- Bias for action, agility, and balance driving vs being directed. Ability to take initiative, think ahead, engage proactively, and make great things happen. They must be comfortable taking risks, raise the bar for new ways of doing things, and navigate through ambiguity.
- Understanding of the business and trade media landscape in North America with relationships and what drives results. Proven desire and ability to think creatively in driving public relations efforts within emerging industries.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work effectively with executives and stakeholders at all levels. Collaborative nature and team player; a desire to work in an international environment.
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
- Strong project management skills. Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
- Experience working in commercial organizations and agencies.

The annual base salary range for this position based in the United States is listed below. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on Neo4j’s compensation practices, job related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and trainings, in addition to geographic location. Based on the factors above, Neo4j utilizes the full width of the range.
In addition to the range below, US employees are eligible for a stock option grant and certain roles are eligible for an annual bonus. Employees in this position are also eligible to participate in the Company’s standard benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and certain leaves of absence.
Annual Base Salary Range for This Role
$170,000—$210,000 USD
