Summary

Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager / Senior Executive – Investment Operations will be reporting to the Head of Fund Operations, Maybank Asset Management and ensure investment operations matters are operating smoothly while to also ensure timely reporting and processing of trades and updates into system of unit trust funds and discretionary portfolios.


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Assistant Manager / Senior Executive – Investment Operations to supporting our investment activities. This role will oversee the administration, and continuous improvement of all investment operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end investment operations process including trade execution, settlements, reconciliations and cash management.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, and custodians to ensure smooth and timely execution of investment activities.
  • Optimize operational workflows, implement process improvements, and leverage technology to enhance scalability and reduce operational risk.
  • Ensure trade settlements across all asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, alternatives, derivatives).
  • Ensure income collection and corporate actions are performing timely and accurately.
  • Reconcile daily cash and investment holdings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with custodians, fund administrators, brokers, and other external partners.
  • Maintain SOPs, operational controls, and audit processes to ensure regulatory and internal policy compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze operational risk, escalate issues appropriately, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in investment operations, including automation, data governance, and reporting accuracy.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar qualification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in investment operations, preferably in asset management, private equity, or institutional investing.
  • Deep understanding of financial instruments, markets, and operational best practices.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience with a track record of process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant systems (e.g., Bloomberg, CTM, Swift), proficiency in Microsoft Excel and middle/back-office functions is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience managing global operations and multi-currency portfolios will be added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.
