San Francisco based VC fund looking to hire a senior events manager. Candidates will have at a minimum five years of events experience with one year of managing staff. A bachelors degree and the ability to execute events from start to finish including budgeting and preplanning is required..

Responsibilities:

• Act as the firm’s resident events experience expert and “consultant” to ensure best-in-class in-person and virtual event planning approaches across the firm.
• Lead and oversee the strategic planning, execution, and continuous optimization of in-person and virtual event experiences across the firm to ensure alignment with brand goals, resource efficiency, cross-functional collaboration, and measurable impact.
• Own and maintain separate annual event budgets for each brand at an aggregate level.
• Provide detailed budget and metrics reporting on a monthly basis to gauge progress against annual OKRs, pattern recognize what’s working / not working, and propose necessary changes in strategy or investment.
• Own end-to-end event planning and logistics for in-person programming by managing timelines, stakeholders, vendors, budgets, and guest outreach to ensure seamless execution, full attendance, and strategic alignment.
• Curate and develop compelling in-person event content by securing facilitators or speakers and partnering on agendas, discussion guides, and session design to ensure relevance, structure, and impact.
• Manage, develop, and/or improve strategy for sponsorship and partnership opportunities for both brands, including co-hosting of events.
• Own the end-to-end sponsorship lifecycle, including relationship development, pipeline tracking, onboarding, ongoing engagement, and offboarding.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required, with a concentration in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in strategic event planning, execution, and sponsorships—ideally across both in-person and virtual formats—with a proven track record of managing complex event portfolios (20+ per year), on time and within budget. Past experience at a Venture Capital firm is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of people management experience with full or part-time direct report(s). Experience managing remote team members is preferred. Strong interest in team development and a collaborative leadership style are essential.
• Skilled in budget creation, management, and reporting, with the ability to track progress toward KPIs/OKRs and adapt event strategy accordingly.
