James Adams is currently working with a specialist UK banking institution renowned for its award-winning services and continued growth across both consumer and commercial markets. As part of their data transformation and analytics journey, they are looking to hire a Senior ETL Developer to join their Infrastructure & Cloud Services function.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced data professional who thrives on turning complex datasets into clear, actionable insights and enjoys optimising data pipelines in a collaborative and inclusive environment. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, requiring just one day per month in the Birmingham office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Transformation: Ensure raw data is processed into reliable, structured formats for downstream analysis.
- Database Management: Work with SQL databases to store, retrieve, and manage data effectively.
- Performance Optimisation: Identify and resolve processing bottlenecks, ensuring scalability and speed.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality BI and data solutions.
- Mentorship: Support and coach junior team members, sharing expertise and best practices.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, DevOps, or Python-based solutions.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and data troubleshooting capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the ETL process.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across departments.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies.
