Our valued Client is actively seeking a Senior Estimator with 15+ years of experience in heavy civil site development estimating. This is a high-impact role with a contractor known for delivering large-scale infrastructure across the region. You’ll play a critical role in pricing and winning work in asphalt paving, grading, milling, and related scopes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full life cycle of the estimating process for site development projects (asphalt, grading, milling, excavation, utilities, etc.)
• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, cost analyses, and proposals for public and private bids.
• Use HCSS HeavyBid to develop detailed, data-driven cost estimates.
• Review drawings, specs, and addenda to assess scope and risk.
• Collaborate with operations teams to align production assumptions with field realities.
• Analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing and ensure competitive bid coverage.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks, and bid strategy sessions.
• Assist in value engineering, bid leveling, and scope clarifications post-bid.

Required Qualifications:

• 15+ years of hands-on experience in heavy civil or site development estimating.
• Proven track record winning work in asphalt, grading, milling, and mass excavation.
• Expert-level proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid.
• Strong understanding of DOT specs and public works bid processes.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet aggressive deadlines.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior field experience in site development or paving operations.
• Familiarity with HCSS HeavyJob and other construction management tools.
• Existing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers in the Baltimore area.
