Your impact

Jacobs is seeking to add a Senior Environmental Project Manager to our Denver-based environmental team!

The successful candidate will manage complex projects and task orders and work with interdisciplinary teams of specialists to complete analysis of transportation, water, and other infrastructure projects, including documentation, permitting, and regulatory compliance for federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations. This role will coordinate and oversee preparation of environmental documents and processes, supporting technical documents, and coordination with state DOT partners and federal agencies, clients, discipline leads, technical and support staff, subconsultants, and stakeholders.

This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to influence and provide leadership as part of Jacobs’ environmental practice in the western states.

The duties of this role include

  • Project/task management, interagency/interdisciplinary coordination, regulatory and permit compliance, business development, and opportunities to build a team and mentor staff
  • Must be able to work closely with a diverse team to provide proactive and collaborative solutions for various public and private sector clients, and would leverage Jacobs’ team of project managers, planners, biologists, environmental scientists and environmental engineers in the pursuit and delivery of opportunities throughout the western U.S.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in environmental studies, planning, policy, business management, science, or other related field
  • At least 15 years of experience in environmental planning, analysis, and studies
  • Proficiency with maintaining scopes, schedules, and budgets on a variety of projects
  • Project management experience and the ability to build, train, and mentor delivery teams
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in interagency/interdisciplinary coordination, risk identification and management
  • Demonstration of business development knowledge with an effective ability to market state, local, and private clients to secure environmental and engineering-centric work
  • Transportation and infrastructure project management experience, ideally with State DOTs
  • Knowledge of state and local regulatory requirements and permitting processes for environmental compliance
  • Strong project management skills and ability to effectively manage scope, schedule and budgets for environmental projects and task orders
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team of multidisciplinary professionals
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload to meet project deadlines
  • Record for building and maintaining relationships with regulatory and resource agencies, tribes, and local agency programs


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience with transportation projects
  • Experience with State and Federal Agencies, such as FHWA, State DOTs, CFLHD, WFLHD, USEPA, USFWS, and USACE
  • Broad knowledge of environmental policies, regulations, and processes including NEPA, ESA, NPDES, CWA 404, 401, 402, Section 106, and Section 4(f)
  • Demonstrated client relationship skills
  • Ability to travel as needed for project assignments and pursuits
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and ArcGIS

140,700.00

Posted Salary Range Upper

212,850.00

The base salary range for this position is $140,700.00 to $212,850.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
