We are hiring a Senior Specialist Enterprise Architect to establish and manage Suncor’s Enterprise Architecture capability and governance for each of the Digital IT architecture domains.

In this role, you will establish a 2-3 year vision for the Enterprise Architecture capability and marshal appropriate resources to establish this capability in partnership across D&IT teams. You’ll ensure the Enterprise Architecture organization is at the technical forefront of external trends, practices and innovations while maintaining alignment with Suncor’s overall business strategy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Fifteen years of experience including progressive team collaboration accountabilities
  • Advanced enterprise architecture experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technical discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced understanding of enterprise architecture methodology, standards, processes and service delivery
  • Experience managing vendor partnerships
  • Strong influencing, persuasion, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and build an effective and collaborative Enterprise Architecture community amongst Solution Architects
  • Engage in discussions with executive stakeholders, speak from a strategic perspective and provide pertinent operational facts and figures
  • Explain complex concepts and issues in business language to gain support for technology strategy and architectural evolution
  • Make decisions quickly, resolve issues, and clearly communicate cross-organization decisions and discussions to relevant parties in an open and transparent way
  • Mobilize action internally and externally to D&IT to develop enterprise architecture capability
  • Manage service delivery and resourcing to expected cost, quality, and schedule
  • Lead the Enterprise architecture community with an objective of sharing and promoting architecture knowledge, tools, and standardization of practices
  • Ensure compliance and governance through the management of governance forums (i.e. Architecture Review Board, Technical Review Board)

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • This is an office-based role, hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
