Job Title: Process Equipment Design Engineer
Location: Raleigh, NC (On-site 90% of the time)
Duration: Initial contract of 6 months, with an expected extension to 12-18 months
Experience Range: 10+ years (Experience is flexible based on the criteria below)
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Equipment Design Engineer to join our team in Raleigh, NC. This is an on-site position requiring the candidate to be present 90% of the time. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing clean utilities and stainless steel process equipment, particularly in large powder charging and mixing operations for buffers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop clean utilities and stainless steel process equipment, including skids and tanks.
Work on large powder charging and mixing operations for buffers, involving large SS tanks, mixers, and material lifts.
Ensure designs comply with ASME BPE standards.
Read and interpret automation documentation, translating process information into automation verbiage.
Provide expertise in cleaning and SIP (Sterilization in Place) processes.
Prepare and review IQ (Installation Qualification), OQ (Operational Qualification), PQ (Performance Qualification) documentation, and C&Q (Commissioning and Qualification) processes.
Manage submittals and RFI (Request for Information) workflows with general contractors.
Coordinate field activities and lead design efforts on equipment packages.
Technical Skills:
Extensive design experience in clean utilities and/or stainless steel process equipment.
Familiarity with ASME BPE standards.
Ability to read and translate automation documentation.
Experience with cleaning and SIP processes is a plus.
Knowledge of IQ, OQ, PQ documentation, and C&Q processes.
Experience with submittals and RFI workflows.
Soft Skills:
Self-starter with a Type-A personality.
Ability to work with minimal direction.
Strong collaboration skills, able to work across various firms and partners.
Proven experience in field coordination and leading design on equipment packages.
Qualifications:
10+ years of relevant experience (flexible based on the criteria mentioned).
Ideally, local to Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
