Role Objective
We are seeking a highly skilled
Electronics Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our UAV manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining electronic manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality production, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The role involves working closely with design, production, and quality teams to implement best practices in electronics assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Optimization: Develop, implement, and refine
PCB assembly, soldering, SMT, and through-hole manufacturing processes to meet high-reliability aerospace and defense standards.
Manufacturing Support: Provide hands-on support for the
assembly and testing of electronic sub-systems used in UAVs. Ensure process stability, repeatability, and defect reduction.
Wiring Harness Assembly & Integration: Design, develop, and optimize
wiring harness assembly, routing, and termination processes ensuring compliance with aerospace standards. Work on crimping, splicing, shielding, and testing methodologies for UAV applications.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with
IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, AS9100, MIL-STD (preferred), and other relevant aerospace industry standards. Work with the quality team to conduct
root cause analysis and corrective actions
Component Selection & BOM Optimization: Assist in optimizing electronic components selection, ensuring availability, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
Failure Analysis & Troubleshooting: Investigate manufacturing defects, work on continuous improvement, and provide recommendations for yield enhancement.
Supplier & Vendor Coordination: Work closely with suppliers for
PCB fabrication, component sourcing, and contract manufacturing. Ensure vendor compliance with UAV and defense manufacturing standards.
Documentation & SOPs: Develop and maintain
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation for electronics manufacturing operations.
New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead the transition of new electronic designs from
prototyping to full-scale production, ensuring smooth ramp-up and scalability.
Experience And Education Requirements
Education: Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, process engineering, or PCB assembly in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics industries.
Strong knowledge of PCB fabrication, assembly techniques, rework procedures, and failure analysis.
Hands-on experience with SMT
Experience with wiring harness manufacturing, crimping, soldering, and aerospace-grade cable assembly.
Familiarity with embedded electronics, power electronics, RF electronics, and avionics systems is a plus.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Certifications
IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 (Electronics Assembly) Certification.
IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Wiring Harness And Cable Assembly) Certification (Preferred).
Six Sigma Green/Black Belt (Preferred).
AS9100 / Aerospace Quality Standards knowledge
Working Conditions
