Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer to join our engineering team at Jarsh Safety. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of embedded hardware systems for safety- critical and IoT applications. This position involves working on advanced hardware solutions that ensure the highest level of safety, reliability, and performance in industrial environments. The role requires deep technical expertise, innovation, and a strong commitment to meeting stringent safety and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Embedded Hardware Development: Lead the design, development, and testing of embedded hardware systems for industrial safety and IoT applications, focusing on reliable and high-performance solutions.
  • System Architecture: Define and design the architecture of embedded systems and components, ensuring compliance with safety standards such as ISO 13849, IEC 61508, and other functional safety requirements.
  • Component Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate microcontrollers, sensors, power electronics, and communication interfaces to meet project needs while ensuring safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the schematic design, PCB layout, and system integration for hardware prototypes. Conduct rigorous testing to validate designs against performance, reliability, and safety criteria.
  • Hardware and Firmware Integration: Work closely with software and firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and embedded software.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Lead the troubleshooting and debugging of hardware issues, providing root cause analysis and recommending improvements in both development and production environments.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of design specifications, test plans, validation reports, and ensure adherence to industrial safety standards.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with advancements in embedded hardware technologies, IoT trends, and industry standards to improve hardware design practices.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in embedded hardware design and development.
  • Proven track record in designing and deploying embedded systems for industrial applications.


Technical Skills:

  • Embedded Systems & Microcontroller Expertise: Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and microcontroller-based hardware design.
  • PCB Design: Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium, Eagle, KiCad, EasyEDA, or similar.
  • Power Electronics: Experience in power electronics design, circuit calculations, and optimization.
  • Analog & Digital Circuit Design: Expertise in designing sensor interfaces, power management, and communication circuits.
  • Programming Knowledge: Understanding of embedded programming languages such as C and Python.
  • IoT and Communication Protocols: Knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, BLE, GPS, and other wireless communication devices.
  • Hardware Integration & Prototyping: Experience in hardware integration for embedded systems and rapid prototyping/testing.
  • Troubleshooting & Debugging: Proficient in hardware debugging tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS): Familiarity with RTOS-based development for time-sensitive applications.
  • Signal Integrity & EMI/EMC: Understanding of signal integrity, power management, and EMI/EMC considerations.
