We are seeking an energetic and adaptable electrical technician IV to join our integration test team at Generac Clean Energy. As an electrical technician IV, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing and supporting electrical and electronic systems used for research and development of home battery backup systems. Come be part of a multi-faceted team focused on system level testing.


This role is onsite in our N. Billerica MA office.


Responsibilities:

  • Install and troubleshoot battery and inverter systems in a lab environment
  • Execute manual test procedures for system and device level testing in collaboration with engineers
  • Take on lab duties supporting electrical infrastructure, test equipment, tools and electrical component needs
  • Create and wire custom test fixtures/jigs
  • Create and follow guidelines for bill of materials, procedures, wiring diagrams and supporting documentation for test fixtures
  • Collaborate with on-site and remote team members
  • Populate, repair, modify and test printed circuit boards (SMT and through hole components)
  • Work independently to meet project deadlines
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with sourcing electronic and electro-mechanical components
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to changing laboratory needs, prioritize and adapt quickly to meet project deadlines or support urgent team goals


Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 + years’ experience as an Electrical Technician
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and equipment
  • Experience with electrical codes and safety standards for household electrical wiring
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and willingness to comply with safety procedures
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members


Preferred Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
  • Industrial Automation experience
  • Experience with JIRA like tool
  • Basic Linux exposure
