We are currently looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong background in AWS to lead and manage the development, deployment, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure. This is a high-responsibility role where you will be key in designing and building our infrastructure from the ground up, collaborating closely with IT and security teams, and ensuring our platform’s reliability, scalability, and security. Position Overview: As a Senior DevOps Engineer at VisionPlus, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling our cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will work closely with our IT and Security teams to ensure the infrastructure supports our growing product while following industry best practices in security, data safety, and compliance. This role demands a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment and can take ownership of building critical infrastructure that will support our crypto payment platform. Key Responsibilities: • Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Design, implement, and manage the cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring it is robust, secure, scalable, and efficient. Build end-to-end infrastructure with components such as VPC, Networking, VPN, Peering, Load Balancing, and Containers. • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate provisioning and management of AWS resources. Ensure that infrastructure changes are repeatable, reliable, and well-documented. • Cloud Security & Compliance: Work alongside IT and security teams to apply best practices for cloud security and data safety. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOC 2) and ensure the infrastructure is protected against potential vulnerabilities. • High Availability & Scalability: Build and maintain a highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable cloud infrastructure to handle growing traffic and system demands, particularly for a mission-critical crypto payment platform. • Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Implement and maintain cloud monitoring solutions (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus) to proactively monitor system performance, health, and security. Optimize cloud infrastructure performance, cost, and resource allocation. • Automation & CI/CD Pipelines: Develop and manage automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD) to streamline code integration, testing, and deployment. Ensure smooth and secure deployment of updates with minimal downtime. • Collaboration with IT & Security Teams: Work closely with IT and security teams to ensure the proper integration of security controls within the infrastructure. Ensure compliance with internal security policies, industry regulations, and best practices. • Disaster Recovery & Backup: Ensure that appropriate disaster recovery (DR) strategies are in place, including regular backups, failover mechanisms, and testing of DR plans. • Container Orchestration: Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS. • Cost Optimization: Ability to monitor and optimize cloud resource usage to reduce AWS costs while maintaining performance and scalability. • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain clear documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and protocols. Provide knowledge sharing and training to junior engineers and other team members. Requirements: • Experience: o 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, with a focus on building and managing cloud infrastructure using AWS. o Strong experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS, Route 53, ELB, and CloudWatch. o Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible. o Strong background in networking concepts (VPC, VPN, Peering, Subnets, Security Groups, Load Balancers). • Cloud Security Expertise: o In-depth knowledge of cloud security practices, including encryption, access control, firewalls, and monitoring. o Familiarity with AWS security services (e.g., AWS WAF, AWS Shield, KMS) and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOC 2, HIPAA). • Automation & CI/CD: o Proficiency in automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar, for implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines. o Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes or ECS. • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: o Experience with monitoring and logging solutions like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools to ensure performance, security, and availability. o Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and proactively resolve problems before they impact the system. • Collaboration & Communication: o Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and solutions to cross-functional teams. o Comfortable working closely with IT, Security, and development teams to align on objectives and ensure smooth operation and delivery. • Start-Up Mindset: o High agency with the ability to take ownership of complex infrastructure projects in a fast-paced, rapidly growing startup environment. o Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. o Comfort working independently with minimal supervision. • Educational Background: o A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. o Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus. Nice-to-Have Skills: • Blockchain/Crypto Knowledge: Familiarity with blockchain technologies, particularly in relation to cryptocurrency payment systems, and understanding of the unique challenges of securing cloud infrastructure in this domain.
