Job Title - Senior DevOps Engineer

Position Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of our organisation by championing best practices in infrastructure automation, continuous integration, and deployment. You will have end-to-end ownership of designing, implementing, and optimising robust and scalable systems. The role offers an exciting opportunity to lead initiatives that drive efficiency, innovation, and the overall success of our technology stack. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including QA, UI, Development, IT/Ops, and non-engineering stakeholders, is integral to this role.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
• Implement best practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment, ensuring reliability and speed in software delivery.
• Maintain and enhance the existing IaC scripts to ensure efficient provisioning and configuration of infrastructure components.
• Collaborate with the security team to implement and maintain security best practices.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Administer and optimise Linux and/or Windows systems to ensure high availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address challenges promptly.
• Configure and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the health and performance of systems.
• Analyse logs and metrics to proactively identify and address potential issues.
• Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Orchestrate containerized applications using Kubernetes, Nomad or similar platforms.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to ensure our technology stack remains current and competitive.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in a senior capacity of at least 6 years in an enterprise-grade environment.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• In-depth knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Strong expertise in IaC tools (e.g., Terraform)
• Experience with micro-services deployments (e.g., k8s, Nomad/Consul)
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
