Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: New York, NY. 10019 (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)

Duration: 12 Month of Project (Temp to Hire)

Pay Rate: $90/hr. $98/hr. on W2 (without benefit) [based on experience]

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with development architects, clients, and business analysts to build efficient solutions leveraging the appropriate technology stack
• Develop services and utilities based on Python/Java
• Must be self-driven dedicated individual with strong designing and coding skills
• Ensure a consistent and fast deployment pipeline
• Create tooling to improve developer experience
• Work closely with application teams to understand their needs to improve our systems
• Be in sync with the tools and processes available firmwide

Skills Required technical Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required
• At least 5+ years of hands-on application development
• 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles
• Python, JavaScript, Shell, RESTful WebServices, Ansible
• Kubernetes, Docker, and other container orchestration tools.
• RDBMS knowledge (preferably MSSQL/PostgreSQL)
• Observability stack (Prometheus, Loki, Jaeger, Grafana)
• Kafka
• A very strong communicator with the ability to interface directly with clients and analysts to ensure technical requirements and delivery align with expectations
• A strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and ability to deliver solutions under this methodology
• Experience in the development of service-oriented architecture application, good understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Design Patterns
• Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and effective technical designs that work well within large-scale, well-structured enterprise environments
• Must be comfortable in working in Unix environment and have experience with web servers such as Apache and Tomcat
• Can work independently effectively
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in DevOps, with a focus on automation, cloud technologies, and pipeline management.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and automation tools.
• Familiarity with on-prem instances, firewalls, and security setups.
• Hands-on experience with observability stack tools such as Prometheus, Loki, Jaeger, and Grafana.
• Java experience is a good-to-have, with at least 2+ years in application development or in-depth knowledge.
• Financial services background is not mandatory.

Desired Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of GIT/Jenkins
• Knowledge of Sonar, Cypress, Fortify and other standard code coverage/testing tools
• Knowledge of automation testing using tools such as: Junit/Mockito, Maven/Gradle
• DevOps and Cloud experience
• Experience in BDD
