As a DevOps engineer, you’ll take the wheel on all things infrastructure and reliability. We’re talking end-to-end ownership - designing systems, implementing tooling, defining best practices, and ensuring we sleep well at night knowing our platform is stable, scalable, and secure.


This is a temporary contract for 12 months with possibility of extension. 



Key Responsibilities:


  • Design, implement, and scale reliable infrastructure on AWS using Terraform (IaC).
  • Define and drive our SRE practices: SLAs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident response.
  • Build observability into everything: metrics, logs, distributed tracing, and alerting.
  • Create robust CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies that reduce risk and increase velocity.
  • Lead capacity planning, disaster recovery, and performance tuning across systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Platform & Data engineering, ML, and product teams to ensure infra is enabling - not blocking - innovation.
  • Document systems, automate the boring stuff, and teach the team to fish (not ticket).


Qualifications and Core Competencies:


  • 10+ years in DevOps/SRE/Infra roles in cloud-native environments.
  • Deep experience with AWS services (ECS, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, etc).
  • Fluency in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
  • Solid coding/scripting chops (Python, Go, or similar).
  • Strong grasp of Linux fundamentals, networking, and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Experience implementing monitoring and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, PagerDuty or similar.
  • Real-world incident response experience, and a desire to automate yourself out of those incidents.
  • A bias for action, curiosity, and the humility to know reliability is never “done.”


Nice to have:


  • Exposure to machine learning or geospatial workloads (bonus points for weird data formats).
  • Familiarity with GitOps or serverless architectures.
  • Prior experience being the SRE/DevOps hire and building systems from scratch.
  • Contributions to open-source infra or SRE tooling.


What We Offer:


  • Competitive Salary: $90 - $100 CAD hourly

  • Full-time, Permanent, Remote work in Canada.
  • Completion of a background check will be required for this position.
